Day 7: Vientiane - Lak Sao
This morning your private guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel. You destination today will be the small town Lak Sao. We drive south, following the Mekong River. Lak Sao is 320 km. far from Vientiane, this will take approximately 6-8 hours for driving.
We will pass through some of the most dramatic and breathtaking limestone scenery in Southeast Asia. The Khammouan Limestone NBCA (National Biodiversity Conservation Area) is one of the most stunning landscapes of Laos. You can ask your guide to stop anywhere else along the way to make pictures or for any other purposes. The landscape is simply spectacular.Afternoon arrival in Lak Sao.

Day 8: Lak Sao - Dong Hoi
Transfer the border (Cau Treo). The meeting time at the border is at 09.00 am. Say goodbye to your Lao guide. Cross the border to Vietnam
**you should have a Vietnam visa before entering Vietnam as the visa is NOT available upon arrival**
Meet your Vietnamese guide upon arrival and transfer to Dong Hoi. Dong Hoi was for largely destroyed during the Vietnam War. Many new buildings have been constructed since then giving this town a distinct atmosphere.

Day 9: Dong Hoi - Hue
Morning visit of Phong Nga Caves. The Phong Nga cave system, designated a World Heritage Site in 2000, is a natural wonder and stretches way underground.The main cavern is almost 8km long with uncharted kilometres of passageways and river caves adjoining. The remains of an ancient Cham temple also lie inside the cave which is accessed by boat. After this visit drive to Hue.

Day 11: Hue - Hoi An
Today at 0830 you will picked up by your driver for the transfer from Hue to Hoi An. Your driver is responsible for safely transferring you to Hoi An. This drive will take approximately 4 hours including stops along the way. There are no scheduled stops along the way. The driver will stop for the occasional toilet stop and for lunch. It's not guaranteed that your driver speaks English. Drop off at the hotel.

Day 13: Hoi An - Danang - Saigon
Transfer to Danang for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City

Day 15: Saigon - Chau Doc
Pickup from the hotel at 0830.
Drive to Chau Doc. This journey will take up most of the day. Visit the Cai Be floating market on the way. Continue to Chau Doc. You can ask your guide to stop along the way for taking pictures or for any other purpose. Drop off at the Thuan Loi Hotel. The Thuan Loi is a simple, centrally located hotel. The restaurant has a nice terrace along the river.

Day 16: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh
The public boat will depart from the pier of the Thuan Loi Hotel at 0830. It will take approximately one hour to the Cambodian-Vietnamese border. Border crossing formalities will take approximately one to one and a half hours.
Continue to Phnom Penh which will take another three hours. Meet upon arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 18: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap
Transfer to boatlanding. Public boat to Siem Reap. Departure of this boat is at 7 AM.*
Public boat over Tonle Sap Lake to Siem Reap.
The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. It forms a natural floodplain reservoir in the depression of the Cambodian plain and is drained by the Tonle Sap River into the Mekong River near Phnom Penh. When the level of the Mekong River is high the flow of the Tonle Sap River reverses: water is pushed into the lake, raising its level by up to 10 meters and increasing its area from 2,500-3,000 square kilometers in the dry season to 10,000-16,000 square kilometers in the rainy season.
Transfer from pier in Chong Kneas to your hotel in Siem Reap.
